Surviving Cancer 101

Many of you know, or have heard of our friend Jackie (Smith) Malena. She has been fighting a rare form of liver cancer (that has metasticized) for last several years. She battles it everyday. But, what is more remarkable is her journey with cancer. Through the countless help from friends and strangers alike, the anonymous donations, the surprise house-cleanings, meals and ongoing help she received... she knew her life was better for having gone through this experience. And God has given her new purpose in life-- educating, inspiring and empowering other cancer patients-- especially newly diagnosed.

Jackie has launched a website and written a book with information and tips for those with cancer and their loved ones. Everything from how to self-advocate, create your own medical records book, how to help support loved ones, financial issues, etc. The site just launched and there are plans for much more information to be added as well as chat rooms and forums.
